This program assumes you have a 200 hour yoga teacher training and basic knowledge of yoga, postures, philosophy and meditation.
Here are highlights of what we will cover in this 300 hour training:

  • Gentle Therapeutic Yoga Techniques

  • Sequencing & Adjustment Styles

  • Brain & Body Anatomy as it Relates to Stress

  • Listening, Communication & Teaching Methods

  • Restorative Yoga Training

  • Trauma-Sensitive Practices

  • Adaptive Yoga & Body Positive Practices

  • Business of Yoga & Ethics

Program Requirements

  • attend all training sessions, (or make arrangements to make-up missed hours)

  • be open and willing to consider and try practices offered; participate in discussions

  • complete all homework assignments

  • complete 4 hours of teaching new content/perspective with journal reflection.

  • minimum of 4 hours of attending additional workshops of your choice

  • schedule 2 - 30 minute calls with Joni to discuss progress/goals (spaced as you see fit, across the program)

  • attend 3 (2 hour) Mindfulness/Meditation Teacher Training sessions (or dial-in/request post-video access to 10 - 35 minute Webinars/Videos)

  • assist 6 hours of advanced teaching (assisting a YTT or Continuing Education class)

  • prepare and lead a 2 hour themed workshop

  • develop and journal about your own home yoga/meditation practice

  • read books on required reading list

  • complete take home assignments & quizzes

Pricing includes the cost of the Thursday through Sunday retreat in August (room & board) and a manual
(doesn’t include price of books):

Healthy Body Peaceful Soul is a 300 hour Registered Yoga School. Joni Staaf Sturgill, ERYT-500, will be your lead trainer, along with educated, skilled and talented teachers: Sterling Painton, ERYT-500, Edward Dinnen, RYT-500, and Amy Jansen, RYT-500, as well as other experts in their field.

An easy drive from any area of the city, Sterling Yoga & Wellness Center is a beautiful, serene setting to study yoga from in the south hills of Pittsburgh. This 300 hour yoga teacher training will be held from 9:00 am to 5 pm on the dates listed below. This training includes a Thursday evening through Sunday noon retreat in August. Fill out the Training Application here.
