One - a poem of presence

I stood...

And the trees seemed to

wrap their arms

around me...

Green feathers of the forest

tickling my attention

into stillness.

Rooting into the soft, muddy, earthy floor,

I grew...

wrapped in the woody embrace.

Rock by my root's foot.

Breeze floating through

lacy boughs of hair...

softly rustling water

flowing like blood in my veins.

Ram casts a glow at my crown.

Meeting...

Merging...

One.

Earth's Autumn Morning ~ a poem by Joni

Now that my children are back in school, I'm returning to the habit of my meditative morning walks. I thought I'd share a little inspiration that came to me after this morning's walk.

Earth’s Autumn Morning

She unzipped her thick gray cloak slowly...
to reveal clear blue joy.

Her bright soul shined,
burning away remnants of gloom.

The furious downpour, that brought
both darkness and bursts of light,
had passed...

just as everything does.

Her warm radiance glittered the tips
of her landscapes with amber and crimson.

With a kiss of cool breath sweeping through the trees,
she, and I settle into this Autumn morning.
